Tuzla Evacuation Road between Tarsus and Adana continues to cause traffic accidents due to sharp bends, trees that restrict the drivers' vision and many other reasons. The highway, where an injured traffic accident occurred the other day, puts the lives of citizens in the region and many people who use the road at risk. Tuzla Evacuation Road, which is frequently on the agenda with fatal and injury accidents, is quite busy due to its location on the prison route and intense use by farmers. Regarding the road, the people of the region, who repeatedly applied to the Regional Directorate of Highways, the deputies and authorized institutions asked us to bring the issue to the agenda by reaching the Milli Gazete as a last resort. Speaking to our newspaper on behalf of the people of Tarsus, Hüseyin Kışoğlu explained in more detail why the Tuzla Evacuation Road caused traffic accidents.
“SERIOUS ACCIDENTS OCCUR ON THIS ROAD ONCE A WEEK”
Speaking about the accidents caused by the Tuzla Evacuation Road, Hüseyin Kışoğlu stated that he is 61 years old and lived in Tarsus throughout his life, said, "This road has existed for 20 years and it is always associated with traffic accidents. As a frequent user of this road, I risked an accident many times. As local people, we know the risk of this road, but foreign citizens and visitors to the prison have crashed on this road many times. Serious accidents happen on this road once a week. There are sharp bends, trees block the road, and drivers cannot see oncoming cars until they are head-to-head.”
“THEY SAY THE SOLUTION IS IN ANKARA”
Hüseyin Kışoğlu stated that the number of accidents increased in the spring and summer months and, “In the coming months, the number of farmers on this road will increase and prison visitors will use the road more. Therefore, there will be more traffic accidents on this road. The local press has brought up the issue many times. As Tarsus residents, we have conveyed the matter to the authorities many times. However, they always said that the solution to the issue was in Ankara. But here people always crashes. Now we want someone to hear our voice. While the number of people using the road is increasing day by day, the indifference here will cause more loss of life and injury,” he added.
