Felicity (Saadet) Party Deputy and Youth Branch Chairman Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the claim that ‘ASELSAN’, ‘ROKETSAN’, ‘HAVELSAN’ and ‘TUSAŞ’, which are among the important organizations of Turkey, will be sold, to agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). In the parliamentary question submitted to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, upon the request of Vice President Fuat Oktay, Karaduman asked whether the sale of institutions with strategic importance was on the agenda during the visits and meetings that took place in the last few days.
SHARE SALE ON THE AGENDA
Reminding the claim that strategic institutions will be sold after the visit of Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to our country, Karaduman said:
“Recently, with the increase in the exchange rate, there has been a noticeable rise in your contacts with the UAE and Qatar states. Following the last meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar made the statement of; 'We are evaluating the opportunities that arise due to Turkey's economic course'. For the same meeting, Chairman of Defense Industries İsmail Demir said; ‘We accompanied the visit to Qatar, we held important meetings in the field of defense industry’. Along with all these developments, the allegations that there may be a sale of shares from ‘ASELSAN’, ‘ROKETSAN’, ‘HAVELSAN’ and ‘TUSAŞ’, which are vital for our country, to the UAE and Qatar have come to the fore.”
“WHICH SHARES HAVE BEEN SOLD IN 10 YEARS?”
Karaduman asked the following questions to Vice President Oktay regarding the allegations in question: "Is it true that the claims that our country's most important national assets, ‘ASELSAN’, ‘ROKETSAN’, ‘HAVELSAN’ and ‘TUSAŞ’, will be sold to the UAE and Qatar? Is it possible to sell the shares of these institutions to other states? Which are our institutions whose shares have been sold to foreigners in the last 10 years? What agreements were made as a result of negotiations with the UAE and Qatar states? What is the content of these agreements? Are the claims that Chairman of Defense Industry and our aforementioned organizations made presentations to the UAE and Qatar true? What is the content of these presentations? What are the issues discussed in these meetings specific to the defense industry? What agreements have been made with these states covering the field of defense industry?”
