“WHY IS JERUSALEM IMPORTANT TO US!”
Referring to the importance of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa for Muslims, AGD and National Youth Foundation Chairman Salih Turhan said, "Jerusalem, one of the ancient cities of Islamic history and which has survived until today, is one of the spiritual centers of great importance for the entire Islamic world, especially our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his companions. Since it is an Islamic city, Muslims have shown special interest in Jerusalem since the century of happiness. Masjid al-Aqsa, the first qibla of Muslims, is in Jerusalem. In order to understand why Masjid al-Aqsa is valuable to us, we need to understand the following well. There are many verses in the Quran about the virtue of the land of Jerusalem. In these verses, it is stated that the lands of Jerusalem were made fertile and these lands were holy places. of Jerusalem; The fact that it is a sacred place where many prophets lived and that it contains Bait al-Maqdes, inherited from the prophets, makes it important. The area around Masjid al-Aqsa is made holy and this mosque contains some of Allah's divine signs on earth within or around it. Masjid al-Aqsa is the second mosque built on earth after Masjid al-Haram. Jerusalem is the first qibla of Muslims. Before the Qibla was turned towards the Kaaba, Muslims performed their prayers facing Bait al-Maqdes for a certain period of time. The events of Isra and Miraj are among the things that make Jerusalem valuable. Our Prophet's desire for the Palestinian lands to be conquered as soon as possible, his preparation of Osama's army for this purpose, and his good news that Bait al-Maqdes would be conquered soon, further strengthened Muslims' interest in Jerusalem. Another reason for the special interest shown to Jerusalem is the hadiths stating that the prayers performed in the Masjid al-Aqsa are more virtuous than the prayers performed in other mosques except the Masjid al-Haram and the Masjid an-Nabawi."
“THE PALESTINE ISSUE IS THE ISSUE OF ALL HUMANITY”
Turhan stated that academics, writers and programmers on television are trying to obscure the Masjid al-Aqsa and Palestine issue by considering it as an "Arab struggle".
"The issue of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the issue of Al-Quds is not a racial struggle, but a matter of faith and belief. There are hundreds of reasons, but let me express a few of them. First, Masjid al-Aqsa is our first qibla. So it's not a land issue. Our Prophet (PBUH) ascended to the Miraj from Jerusalem, from the land where Masjid al-Aqsa is located. While presenting our struggle regarding Al-Aqsa Mosque, we need to present it not as a matter of choice but as an obligation. The struggle in Palestine is a struggle for honor on behalf of all Muslims," Turhan added.
