Nurten Saydan, President of Turkish Pharmacist Employers' Association (TEIS), stated that pharmacists suffered greatly due to the malfunctions in the Pharmaceutical Tracking System (ITS), and said, "Improvements should be made in the system and pharmacists should be allowed to correct their ITS records."
Pharmacists are waiting for solutions to the problems they experience in the ‘Pharmaceutical Tracking System’, which was put into practice in 2010. Making a statement on the subject, Turkish Pharmacist Employers' Association (TEİS) President Pharmacist Nurten Saydan stated that pharmacists suffered greatly because of the use of different infrastructures in the system.
PHARMACISTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO MAKE CORRECTIONS IN THE SYSTEM
Saydan stated that one hundred percent stock consistency could not be achieved due to the problems in the system, “As pharmacists can see the stocks of the previous day, confusion occurs. Due to institutions and organizations using different infrastructures, some drugs appear in pharmacy stocks even though they are sold, and the bill is asked from the pharmacist. System improvements to fix this type of problem should be done and pharmacists should be allowed to fix their ITS records,” she added.
“WE WANT OUR RIGHT OF EXCHANGE WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS GIVEN BY LAW NO 6197”
Calling for the use of the right to exchange drugs between pharmacies, Saydan said, "Preventing pharmacists from exchanging drugs with pharmacies outside the province and delivering them to the patient in a short time, which they cannot obtain from the warehouse because they are out of their hands and are exhausted in the market, or whose the warehouse does not accept return because expiration date is nearing, both violates the right to health and prevents pharmacists from delivering them to the patient and restricts the freedom of commercial activity. The medicines in our pharmacies are our country's national wealth as well as our capital. Therefore, the Pharmaceutical Tracking System should be opened to exchange with pharmacies outside the province as stipulated by Law No. 6197.”
