The Conscious Teachers Association (ÖĞ-DER), Branch Heads and District Representatives Training Meeting was held at the Cansuyu Aid and Solidarity Association Headquarters in Ankara.

Headquarters management and representatives from all over Turkey attended the meeting. At the meeting, after ÖĞ-DER Headquarters commissions made their presentations, the branch heads informed the educators about their work.

“ADDITIONAL APPLICATION OF 50,000 TEACHERS SHOULD BE MADE”

Pointing out that the teacher shortage problem in the Ministry of National Education has not ended, ÖĞ-DER Chairman Hamdi Sürücü stated that the appointment of 20,000 teachers will not be enough, either.

"Even if we support 20,000 assignment descriptions, the number is not enough. Every year, an average of 20,000 teachers leave National Education for retirement or other reasons. The number announced to be appointed this year will only close this gap. The main goal in teacher appointments should be to close the gap, in addition to the teachers who left in 2022, 50 thousand teachers should be appointed," Sürücü said.

“PAID TEACHING REGULATION MUST BE REVIEWED”

Drawing attention to the fact that the paid teaching system should come to an end as soon as possible, Driver emphasized that the exploitation of labor continues with the paid teaching system.

A new regulation should be made in the paid teacher regulation. Salary teachers should be prevented from receiving wages below the minimum wage. In addition to the fee, the insurance of paid teachers should be paid in full.
