“We are here today and we will be here from now on”
However, Saadet Party Yenişehir District President Muhammed Raşit Karayel, who made a press statement despite all the obstacles, said, “We were not allowed to set up a tent by the Mersin Governorship. This shows us that our people who have a housing problem will no longer be able to live in tents.”
Saadet Party organized a protest in Mersin to draw attention to the rising rents and the housing problem in Turkey. In the protest organized by the Saadet Party Yenişehir District Presidency, a tent was set up to react to the housing problem. However, the protest was blocked by the governorship. Despite all the obstacles, the members of the Saadet Party, who made a press statement, drew attention to the housing problem of the citizens. Saadet Party Yenişehir District Chairman Muhammed Raşit Karayel, who made his statement at the protest held with the participation of Saadet Party Mersin Provincial Chairman Mehmet Polat, said that as always, Milli Gorus is dealing with the problems of the nation.
“ARE THE MARKETS AND HOMEOWNERS CRIMINAL?”
Reminding that the economic crisis has reached painful dimensions, Karayel said, “The government does not carry out any activity other than putting the blame on the three-letter markets, as it did in food inflation, and goes out of business by blaming the rent increases on the landlords. Are grocery stores and landlords criminal? There is no mention of the depreciating Turkish Lira (TL), nor support is given to our dying citizen. As the Saadet Party Yenişehir District Presidency, we are here today, and we will continue to be here from now on, in order to bring this issue to the agenda.”
“OUR PEOPLE CAN NO LONGER LIVE IN TENTS”
Saadet Party Yenişehir District President Muhammed Raşit Karayel, who read the press statement at the protest demonstration, said, “We were going to witness a historical moment here today. Perhaps for the first time, a political party would carry the presidency of the district to a tent for three days, even if it was symbolic. It has a purpose, we organized this organization in Yenişehir to bring up the increasing rents in our region and the housing problem our nation is exposed to. However, we were not allowed to set up tents by the Mersin Governorship. This shows us that our people who have a housing problem will no longer be able to live in tents.”
