The shopkeeper in Işıkkent shoe shops, where more than 500 workplaces are located in the province of Bornova, Izmir, is closing the shop some days without making the first sale of the day.
Izmir, Turkey's largest shoe manufacturing trades and place of the one which Işıkkent Shoe Site Bornova experiencing troubled times. Yalçın Ata, the chairman of the Izmir Shoe Shops, said that the economic recession affected the shoe industry, and 12 members of the chamber closed the shutters in the last two months. Ata, stating that the effects of this shoe industry is affected by the expression, "There are currently no workshop. The manufacturer can not account for the cost. Abdi Ferhatoğlu, who has been buying shoes for 30 years and doing wholesale and retail sales, stated that there were no sales days at all, and said "There are no customers at the bazaar.
