The train, which departed from Pakistan's capital Islamabad on December 21 and carrying a load of pink salt, arrived in Ankara yesterday at the end of a 13-day journey.
THREE COUNTRY RAIL LINES ARE CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER
The train, which was welcomed by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and the ambassadors and diplomatic missions of other countries involved in the train line project, at the Ankara Train Station, was sent off to Istanbul, its last stop, after the ceremony.
With this first expedition, it is now connected to each other by the trade railways between Ankara-Tehran and Islamabad. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “This train line will offer a new option to our industrialists and businessmen on the Pakistan-Iran-Turkey route. The train line will save time and cost in trade, and will lead to the development of trade between countries.”
