In the current satellite images, it was determined that the fires broke out at 31 different points,” the statement said. The ministry stated that the fire, which broke out at 31 points, continues.

RUSSIAN PROGRESS CONTINUES

The town of Slavutich in Chernobyl came under the control of the Russian army earlier in the day, Slavutic Mayor Yuryi Fomichev announced that the town was occupied by Russia. Fomichev said, “We received an ultimatum by Russian troops 3 days ago to surrender the city without a fight. However, despite this, we defended the city resolutely. But Slavutic is under occupation as of today.”

THE WORST IN THE WORLD

On the other hand, the world's worst nuclear accident had occurred in 1986, in the region where the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was under the control of Russia, is located. Although the plant is not in operation, it needs to be constantly checked. While the old nuclear zone continues to be a major concern, the Ukrainian parliament has stated that forest fires have occurred around the power plant in the past days, based on images taken from satellite images.
