In order to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic in our country, the Covid vaccine was administered to more than 58 million citizens with the vaccination campaign launched by the Ministry of Health in 2021.
Saadet Party Istanbul Deputy Mustafa Kaya prepared a 19-item parliamentary question with experts in the field regarding the Covid-19 vaccine mobilization, which has brought about many discussions.
Speaking to Milli Gazete regarding the answers given to the parliamentary question submitted to the Ministry of Health, Mustafa Kaya said, "There are no answers to these professionally prepared questions on the Ministry of Health's website. The response we received to the proposal shows that we were not able to fully work on the information and data that needed to be collected during the pandemic period."
Three and a half years have passed since March 11, 2020, when the first Covid-19 case was seen in Türkiye.
Within the scope of the Covid-19 epidemic, in which 14 million cases were seen and 94 thousand people died in our country, the vaccination process started in 2021 and various coronavirus vaccines were administered to more than 58 million citizens in Türkiye.
However, discussions about Covid-19 measures and vaccine mobilization continue. In this context, Saadet Party Istanbul Deputy Mustafa Kaya prepared a 19-item written parliamentary question, accompanied by experts on Covid-19 vaccines.
The responses to the proposal submitted to the Ministry of Health caused confusion.
Mustafa Kaya, who evaluated the Ministry of Health's response to the parliamentary question in the National Newspaper, stated that they could not receive satisfactory answers to the parliamentary question prepared by experts in the field.
"WE CANNOT FIND THIS DATA ON OUR MINISTRY OF HEALTH'S WEBSITE"
Saadet Party Istanbul Deputy Mustafa Kaya stated why they prepared the 19-item parliamentary question on Covid-19 vaccines prepared with the help of experts.
"I am not an expert in this field, but as a deputy, questions about this process were constantly on my mind. I was very saddened by the response to this proposal, which we prepared together with medical doctors who are experts in their fields. Almost most of the prepared questions are questions based on information and statistical data. We cannot find this data on the website of our Ministry of Health. The reason we want this data is that many people lost their lives in this epidemic and the vaccination method was started to reduce the risk of death," Kaya said.
“IT SHOWS THAT WE CANNOT WORK FULLY ON THE INFORMATION AND DATA”
Mustafa Kaya also touched upon the difficulties of the pandemic process.
"If you or I were the minister of health during the pandemic, we would have to make the same decision. Because the decision taken jointly by 30-40 advanced professors in the field of medicine was that vaccination was the most appropriate method to reduce the spread of the epidemic and the risk of death all over the world. The questions we prepared were the questions of data that can be kept from the day the vaccination process started until today and that will show that we have experience in this regard, God forbid, if we experience a pandemic period again tomorrow. There are no answers to these professionally prepared questions on the Ministry of Health's website. The response we received to the proposal shows that we were not able to fully work on the information and data that needed to be collected during the pandemic period," Kaya added.
PROPOSAL OF QUESTIONS WAS PREPARED WITH EXPERTS
In the 19-item parliamentary question on Covid-19 vaccines prepared by Mustafa Kaya and doctors who are experts in their fields, answers were sought regarding the nature of the vaccine precautions applied during the pandemic process.
In the motion, which asked how many types of Covid-19 vaccines were used, whether the vaccines received 'emergency use approval', the qualifications of our vaccinated citizens and general information about Covid vaccines, information was also requested about statistical data.
In the parliamentary question, which also included questions about the Turkovac vaccine, questions about the side effects of Covid vaccines were also highlighted.
The 19-item parliamentary question, which was carefully prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Health, can be accessed on the website of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
