YOUNGS SPEND TIME ON TV INSTEAD STUDY OF STUDYING

Yilmaz noted that the lack of reading habits in Turkey is an important problem. "According to a survey conducted, the rate of television watching in Turkey is 74 percent, the number of households with two television sets at home is 70 percent and the number of social media users is 36 million but reading rate is only 4 percent. Even these figures reveal the picture in our country. The annual duration of the students on study is 900 hours while the duration of the students on TV is 1,500 hours. These figures reveal that our young people have become dependent on television and social media. Yilmaz stated that in the last part of the conference, we must be questioning all these perception operations and have to think about the exact opposite.
