Eroglu, noting that the animal imports increased steadily in recent years, "Turkey should act more sensitive to production. Those who cannot produce their own consumption consume what others produce, but on one condition. They want the quality and price. Therefore, we become dependent", he said.

Agriculture & Livestock Turkey, known as the country has become increasingly dependent on imports in recent years.

President Ali Eroglu of the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association Central Council, made important assessments of our newspaper bulundu.türkiye animal imports in the 1990s began voicing Eroglu, "One day the import is done today. Breeder imports are made to increase yield and improve quality. So far, millions of animals have arrived, but failed to achieve sustainability. If we are still importing, we have not been able to provide efficiency in production. Our country was known as a country of agriculture and animal husbandry in recent years. But today the country of agriculture and animal husbandry has lost its character", he added.

Emphasizing that animal imports increased and imports continued in 2018, Eroğlu said, "Millions of animals are still imported. In addition, animal feed is imported because there is a shortage in feed production. Turkey should act more sensitive to production. Those who cannot produce their own consumption consume what others produce, but on one condition. They want the quality and price. So we become dependent. If animal imports arise from a need, it can be done in the short term but if there is a long term, there is a problem here. For example, there is a serious shortage of support in agriculture. According to the law, the support given to agriculture cannot be less than 1% of the gross national product. But this support was no finding of 1 percent in Turkey. The national income for 2018 is 3.7 trillion TL. 1 percent of this makes 37 billion TL. But the agricultural support for 2018 is 16.1 billion TL. We have to make a choice. Apart from increasing production and efficiency, we cannot prevent these imports", he said.

Eroglu, "despite the arrival of September, the publication of the decree on agricultural support is a strange situation," he said.

Stressing that the feeder and farmers are looking forward to the announcement of the support figures, Eroğlu, "we shouldn't turn our back on production planning. We need to be in it. An agriculture council will be held in the coming months. Agriculture council should be considered in every sense and healthy policies should be developed. Otherwise, we would have lost time."
