In the letter sent to the Minister of Treasury and Finance Lütfi Elvan and the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Hak-İş Confederation President Mahmut Arslan demanded exemption for unions who lost members due to the decree laws (KHK) numbered 696 and fell under the threshold.
Arslan stated that although its members did not resign from their unions, they had to leave their unions as of 01.11.2020 due to a change in business line and legal obligation, and that this is the first time that their unions faced the threshold problem in their history.
In addition to the exemptions implemented in previous periods in order to protect social peace, union organization and collective bargaining order in his letter, Arslan said; Our unions, who lost their members due to legal obligation and remained under the industry threshold, demanded an exemption by making a new law arrangement among our unions.
