Cem Semercioğlu, one of the producers of the pro-AKP government media, is trying to get new projects by slandering the Felicity (Saadet) Party. Semercioğlu claimed that concrete was poured for the iftar tent organized by the Saadet Party Fatih Organization for 27 years in Balat. In Semercioğlu's tweet, "The concrete platform @SaadetIstanbul poured under the Ramadan tent in the Golden Horn. Ramadan is over, the tent is gone, the concrete remains. Would you consider removing it, or cafe preparations? Is it fair for a month what’s made on green, earth?” he said.

“NOT A KINDLY APPROACH”

Clarifying the issue, Saadet Party Fatih District President Muzaffer Serenli adding that the works were not new, he said, “Unfortunately, this situation saddens us. We expected that Mr. Cem would call us and ask the truth of the incident. That's what a well-intentioned person does. For 27 years, we have been setting up iftar tents and food distribution points in many parts of Fatih, especially in Balat, during Ramadan. We distribute hot meals to families in need in the neighborhood. Cleaning staff, security forces, shopkeepers and residents of the neighborhood, they have always been eating together at these tables for years. Even street animals and birds get their share from these tables. We carry out these works with the efforts of our devoted members of the organization and the support of benevolent people. We do not receive a penny of help from any public institution or organization. We do not expect anything from anyone. A warm smile from the families who eat and our citizens with whom we have fast-breaking, a word of God's blessing is enough for us.”

“WE ARE FACE TO FACE A SLANDER”

Stating that concrete was poured by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) for the transportation of the Ayvansaray regional fire department 8 months ago, Serenli added, “When we saw that the area was empty and there was no building yet, we wanted to set up our Ramadan tent in this area and after getting the necessary permissions, we set up our iftar tent. We even provided the electricity ourselves. It must be acknowledged that for 27 years, all IBB administrations have not put any obstacles in our work. But if now we faced with such a slander. I'm really sorry. On this occasion, I would like to remind everyone of this fact once again: There is the Hereafter, there is the day of reckoning! The following statement attributed to Hazrat Omar should be an earring: The most unfortunate person in the world is the one who ruins his own hereafter for the sake of someone else's worldly possessions.”
