Metal workers took their actions to the factories. The action decision taken after the collective agreement negotiations between the Turkish Metal Union and Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries (MESS) were blocked, continued in the factories. Workers demanded compensation for their labor by marching at all shift entrances and exits.
"WE WANT RETURN FOR OUR LABOR"
Metal workers, who took action in dozens of factories in many provinces, showed their power coming from production to the bosses, by not staying overtime. The workers, who also held rallies in the squares of the provinces after their shift exits, demanded that MESS give up the 12 percent increase demand offered to them and that their efforts be rewarded.
"NO ONE TEST US"
The workers, who came together under the leadership of the Turkish Metal Union the previous day, stated that all other offers of MESS, not only about wages, were unacceptable. In the press statement made at the rally, "Now, everyone should know that we should sit at the table and negotiate, go out to the field and fight hard. We also know how to do it. Nobody should try to test us. Whoever comes... Throw down the gauntlet to all," it was said.
