Work on civil servant salaries continues. Recently, the bill to increase civil servant salaries was transferred to the General Assembly after the discussions in the Plan and Budget Committee.
The Memur-Sen delegation chaired by Confederation of Public Workers Union "Memur-Sen" Deputy Chairman Hacı Bayram Tonbul participated in the meetings; He conveyed the demands and expectations for the additional payment to be given to public officials.
“NO PUBLIC SERVANTS' PAYROLL SHALL BE BELOW 22 THOUSAND TL”
Calling for the fulfillment of the promise made in the negotiations, Tonbul stated that the lowest civil servant salary should be increased by not less than the lowest public employee wage and that spouse and child benefits should not be taken into account when calculating the lowest public employee salary.
"It should be seen that the fact that the additional payment is not reflected on the retirees will negatively affect the public personnel system. While the reflection of many salary elements paid in the actual working period to the retirement creates a problem, the fact that the additional payment is not reflected will increase this problem. In addition, it would not be fair to make a 22 thousand TL arrangement by including non-working spouse and child benefits. In July, no public official's payroll should be lower than 22 thousand TL," he said.
“STEPS TAKEN FOR RETIREES MUST BE CONTINUED AT THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY”
Stating that the 25 percent increase to be applied to retired public officials is not enough, Tonbul stated that the gap between the pension received during the working period and the pension should be closed. Emphasizing that efforts should be rewarded, the General Assembly needs to take necessary steps in this direction.
