CONGRATULATIONS FROM ERDOĞAN AND ÇAVUŞOĞLU
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the "Independence Day", which is celebrated as a holiday in Greece, on March 25.
Erdogan sent a congratulatory letter to Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis on the occasion of the Greek national holiday.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also celebrated the "Greek Independence Day".
Çavuşoğlu wrote a congratulatory letter to his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, in his letter that started with "Dear Nikos", "We are ready to contribute more to the current positive trend in our relations," he said.
EVEN THE GREEKS ARE SURPRISED
President Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu, as well as the Turkish Embassy in Athens, issued a congratulatory message within the scope of the "Greece Independence Day".
The embassy, which shared a message in English, "We congratulate the people and the Government of the #HellenicRepublic on the occasion of their National Day," it was said.
On the other hand, the celebration of the Greek Independence Day on March 25, which symbolizes the revolt of the Greeks against the Ottoman Empire in 1821, by the Turkish authorities was met with astonishment in the Greek media.
