IHH regularly supports 3,443 orphans in the country where it provides 100 tons of wheat seeds and approximately 14 tons of food support.

In Afghanistan, which has been devastated by the long-lasting US occupation, there is a great need for foreign aid. Millions of people in the country have difficulties even in reaching basic foodstuffs. Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), which did not remain indifferent to the situation in Afghanistan, provided aid to tens of thousands of people in the country in 2021. IHH, which started aid work for Afghanistan with the slogan of "Do not leave alone", in September, it delivered food supplies to approximately 18,000 Afghans in the cities of Kabul, Ghazni, Meydan Şar, Saidabad, Tahar, Kunduz, Baglan. and Kandahar. Families of orphans living in the most remote villages, Afghans with disabilities, as well as people staying in refugee camps and hospitals benefited from the aid. In food packets totaling 10,14 tons; there are rice, oil, chickpea, kidney bean, sugar, onion, milk, tea, tomato paste, salt, potato, bottled gas and eggs. 
 

100 TONS OF WHEAT SENT, REGULAR SPONSORSHIP TO 3,443 ORPHANS

 
IHH, in November, sent 100 tons of the grain of wheat due to the famine in Afghanistan to the country. The seeds delivered to the Humanitarian Aid Association (HAS) operating in the country were distributed to the farmers. Preferred considering the geography of Afghanistan; 4 different seed types named Reis, Bayraktar 2000, Es26 and Sönmez 2021 were planted on lands with different physical conditions according to their characteristics. Regularly supporting 123,000 orphans in 51 countries with the Orphan Sponsorship Support System, IHH continued its activities for orphans in Afghanistan, where there are close to 2 million orphans. IHH, which has 40 orphanages and 2 orphan training centers in 13 countries, is currently helping 3,443 orphans in Afghanistan within the scope of the Orphan Sponsorship Support System. In the Kabul-Istanbul Brotherhood Orphanage opened in Afghanistan in 2013; Services are provided to orphans in the fields of shelter, food, health and education. 
 

CLOTHING AID TO 1,350 ORPHANS 

 
Implementing new projects for orphaned children and their families in 2021, IHH delivered 1,000 clothes on Eid-al-Fitr and 250 on Eid-al-Adha for orphans. On the other hand, within the scope of winter projects, winter clothes were distributed to 100 orphans and a cleaning kit consisting of various cleaning materials was distributed to 600 orphans. 
 

ACTIVITIES ARE BEING DONE TO MAKE FAMILIES LIVE ON

 
IHH, which has been carrying out aid activities in Afghanistan since 1996, has implemented development projects for orphan mothers as well as its activities for orphans. In this context, in 2021, 100 orphan mothers were given sewing training for 3 months with the tailoring project. Sewing machine, iron, machine table, fabric and various sewing materials were distributed to each mother. With the dairy goat distribution project implemented by IHH for orphan families, two dairy goats were given to 25 orphan families. With the poultry project implemented for 40 orphan families, 20 chickens were purchased for each family and poultry houses were set up.
