The People's Alliance, which has been deaf to the opposition's calls for snap elections for a long time, has started to speak loudly about the snap elections in the last few days.

After the statements of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, who gave the first signal at the last group meeting, President Erdoğan started the process yesterday by saying that it could be delayed according to seasonal conditions.

With the start of the new year, eyes are locked on the elections to be held in the coming period.

As the political climate warms up towards the elections, the snap election debate has flared up again due to the economic difficulties and the good news given in recent days.

IT WAS CONTINUOUSLY SAID ON JUNE 18

The members of the government, who constantly turned a deaf ear to the opposition that called for early elections with the pandemic and the economic problems experienced after it, started to make early election statements one after the other in the last week, even though it pointed to the 18th of June.

Even though AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik emphasized that the election would be on time just a few days ago, after the meeting between President Erdoğan and MHP leader Bahçeli a few days ago, the political backstage was active.

THIS TIME THE EXPLANATION FROM ERDOĞAN

Unlike MHP leader Bahçeli, who was influential in election decisions in previous years, the most obvious statement this time came from President Erdoğan.

Erdogan clearly gave the signal for early elections at the AK Party Extended Provincial Presidents Meeting, which he attended yesterday.

"We are on the verge of a new test in these days when we left behind 21.5 years of our establishment and 20 years of our government. You know best the importance of the 2023 elections, which we will update the date by taking into account the seasonal conditions, maybe by pulling it forward a little," Erdoğan said.

“I will also meet with Assad”

President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan, "We started a process as Russia, Turkey and Syria. Hopefully, we will bring our foreign ministers together again as a trio. Then we will come together as leaders according to the developments," he said.
