Despite the appointment of 15,000 contracted teachers, the results of which were announced yesterday, teachers pending appointment called for the appointment of an additional 50,000 teachers via the social network Twitter. While nearly 1 million shares were shared by teacher candidates, the common point of all of them was a minimum of 50,000 additional assignment requests.

15,000 APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED IN SEPTEMBER, MADE YESTERDAY

The appointment of 15,000 contracted teachers, announced in mid-September, was carried out with the 15,000 Teacher Appointment Program held at Beştepe Millet Congress and Culture Center yesterday. Teacher appointments, which came to the agenda with the injustice experienced in the oral interview last week, have been carried out as of yesterday. While the appointment of 15,000 contracted teachers was carried out, the teachers awaiting assignment reacted on the social networking platform by stating that 15,000 appointments would not be enough.

“WE HAVE MADE APPOINTMENT OF 729,487 TEACHERS IN 19 YEARS”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who participated in the 15,000 Teacher Appointment Program held at Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center, noted that with the appointment, a total of 729,487 teachers were appointed in 19 years.

"73 percent of our current teachers were appointed during our governments. We have a young and dynamic staff of teachers, 60 percent of whom are under the age of 40. Due to the absence of teachers, we put an end to those bad scenes, where 40-50 students share the same class, which does not suit us. Thanks to the teacher appointments we made, we caught the OECD average in the number of students per teacher, and even surpassed them in some areas," Erdoğan said.

TEACHERS ARE REACTIVE TO THE APPLICATION NUMBER

The number of teachers waiting for appointment continues to increase every year as a result of the universities opened in each province. After the appointments made every year, an average of 25 thousand new teachers continue to join the teacher caravan waiting for appointment, while the appointments come to the fore with injustices. Teachers, on the other hand, are trying to be on the agenda about appointments every year, and they also react to the decreasing number of appointments every year, despite the increasing number of unappointed teachers.

“TURKEY NEEDS A GREAT EDUCATIONAL REFORM”

While many political parties support the tweets of teacher candidates, Deva Party Chairman Ali Babacan stated in his tweet that Turkey needed a radical education reform, "Turkey needs a fundamental education reform. We have to renew ourselves in every field, from the quality of education to the appointment of teachers. We'll start by removing the interview. Unfortunately, it's not the teacher who can't be appointed, it's the government that can't," he said.

“SCHOOLS ARE WITHOUT TEACHERS, TEACHERS WAITING FOR APPOINTMENT ARE UNEMPLOYED”

Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman, who tweeted about the call of teacher candidates on social media, underlined that schools are without teachers, "Schools are without teachers, teachers waiting for appointment are unemployed. Put an end to this distortion now!" he said.
