Turkey offers condolences after Iranian plane crash

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Sunday extended his condolences to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, by phone, following a deadly passenger plane crash, according to the foreign ministry.

Turkey is “deeply saddened" by news that 66 people died Sunday when a passenger plane crashed near Isfahan, Iran, the statement said. 
 
Wishing Allah’s mercy on those who lost their lives in the painful crash, Cavusoglu conveyed his condolences to the Iranian people by phone, it added.
 
On Sunday an Iranian passenger plane crashed in central Iran, leaving no survivors.
 
The Aseman Airlines flight from Tehran to the southwestern city of Yasuj went down in a mountainous area in the Isfahan province, according to Iran’s Emergency Department.
