Turkey reports record high rise in coronavirus cases since May 15

Turkey’s Health Ministry reported 1,703 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, a record high daily number of infections registered in the republic since May 15 when 1,708 cases were confirmed.

According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 281,509 after 1,703 more people tested positive for the virus over the past 24 hours.

While 1,118 patients are in critical condition, 252,152 patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.

7,883,464 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country.
