Turkey has sent armored vehicles and tanks to the town of Silopi in the southeastern Turkish province of Şırnak, which borders Iraq amid the ongoing Mosul operation against the Daesh terrorists.

The Mosul operation, which aims to clear Mosul from Daesh terrorists, was initiated early on Monday with the participation of 30 thousand troops from 36 countries.

The Iraqi army, Shiite militias, Kurdish regional government forces and the Nineveh Guard are advancing north to Mosul from Qayyarah town simultaneously. Mosul would be surrounded from the south, east and north.
