Speaking about the shopping malls closed due to the epidemic, the President of the Shopping Centers and Investors Association, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Altaş, said that the shopping malls may be gradually opened on May 11 and June 1 in line with the scientific committee's decision and requests.

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Altaş, the Chairman of the Shopping Centers and Investors Association (AYD), stated that the shopping malls (AVM), which were closed for preventive purposes within the scope of coronavirus measures, started to operate again.

Reminding that the pandemic event has been decided to close rapidly since the occurrence of the pandemic, Altaş said, “If our scientific committee approves from 11 May and requests from the retailer over 50 percent, we can gradually open the shopping malls. However, we fully believe that the opening will take place after June Ramadan, as of June 1."

We will take tight measures

Stating that they will take strict measures with the opening of the shopping malls, Altaş said, “We will take strict measures when we open. Because what matters to us is public and employee health. We will take strict measures such as mask dispensing at the entrances, measuring fire, disinfection inside and accepting a certain number of guests to certain square meters.”

CINEMA AND RESTAURANTS IN THE SECOND PLAN

“We are talking about gradual transition,” said AYD President Altaş, regarding the food and entertainment areas in the shopping malls, "In the gradual transition, especially the cinema, restaurant and children's playgrounds will be closed by the Ministry of the Interior, and they will have to be opened by the Ministry. Therefore, we do not think that they will open in the first place."
