The Istanbul stock exchange fell 27.82 points at Monday’s opening.
The BIST 100 dropped by 0.03 percent to open at 98,915.05 points.
The banking and holding sector indices fell by 0.12 percent and 0.14 percent respectively while the financial leasing and factoring sector proved the best performing index -- up 1.57 percent.
The machine sector started the day with the biggest drop, falling 0.77 percent.
On Friday, the BIST 100 closed on an all-time high of 98,942.87 points.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate went up to 3.5310 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Monday, compared to 3.5280 at Friday’s close.
