In the program held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of "Eğitim-Bir-Sen" educators union, the 30-year union struggle of "Eğitim-Bir-Sen" was mentioned and the gains achieved as a result of the struggle were reminded.
Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, and Ali Yalçın, Chairman of Memur-Sen, made speeches in the program.
“THE NAME OF LOYALTY REVEALS THE CONTINUITY OF THE STRUGGLE”
Stating that the concept of loyalty is a very important concept, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin said, "The concept of loyalty is a very important concept. We were touched by the value shown to loyalty by Memur-Sen and Eğitim-Bir-Sen. It is also a sentence that is meaningful and evokes many things to us. It shows the continuity of the struggle. I have attended many meetings of Eğitim-Bir-Sen since its establishment. I witnessed the problems experienced during the process and I witnessed how the Memur-Sen family took care of the victims," he said.
“WEST IN ITS IDENTITY CRISIS”
Stating that there are very rapid developments in the age we live in, Bilgin noted that the West, which is trying to use this for itself, is in an identity crisis.
"The West is in a great crisis because it has lost its ability to create a new culture within the value system within its own civilization tradition. This is the real invisible crisis of the West. The West is getting aggressive fast. He becomes more aggressive as he feels that he is in crisis, even in producing his own lost identity. It's getting more brutal. It begins to lose its existing human values more rapidly. The West has lost this ability because it has lost the historical foundations I mentioned," he added.
“WE ARE ALWAYS AT THE FRONT LINE DEFENDING THE RIGHTS THAT HAVE BEEN USURPED”
Underlining that "Eğitim-Bir-Sen" has overcome antidemocratic processes since its establishment, Yalçın said, "Under the leadership of our founding leader, Mehmet Akif Inan, we have overcome the antidemocratic processes and reached the days when Law No. 4688 was enacted. We have always been at the forefront of expanding the areas of freedom and returning the usurped rights. There is no other unionist in Turkey that brings together seniors and young trade unionists. We have Akif Inan's teachings behind us. We will continue to show loyalty. At the point we have reached, our yesterday is an epic struggle, and today we have continued the journey of our organization with the experience we have gained from yesterday. Tomorrow, we will continue our work by inclusive of everyone, by saying that if you are not in our organization, we are missing something."
“WE SHOULD GET BACK FROM SUNSTERNING DISEASE”
Stating that a new civilization should be established on earth based on universal rules, Bilgin noted that the eyes were therefore directed to the lands where Turkey is located, "As a result of the crisis in the West, eyes turned to the East. It has been translated into Asia, our geography. There are huge problems here, the foremost of the problems here is the Western imitation of non-Western intellectuals who are experiencing an identity crisis against the West, a disease called Westernism," he said.
“WE DID NOT ALLOW THE EXPLOITATION OF LABOR”
Underlining that Eğitim-Bir-Sen has not allowed it to exploit labor and workers since its establishment, Ali Yalçın, Chairman of Memur-Sen, said, "Our movement, which was founded on February 14, 1992 with a great hope, a brand new horizon, its roots extending to the depths of our civilization, its branches embracing humanity and sheltering the oppressed in its shadow, is 30 years old. In our 30-year struggle; We did not allow those who put their ideology ahead of labor, those who use organized power as a means of conflict, and those who consider their members to be the lead soldiers of their ideology, to exploit labor and workers."
