President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received the President of the European Union (EU) Council Charles Michel and the President of the EU Commission Ursula Von Der Leyen at the Presidential Complex.

During the meeting held at the Presidential Complex, all aspects of the relations between Turkey and the European Union were reviewed. It was stated that issues such as the renewal of the March 18 agreement, the visa liberalization, and the updating of the Customs Union Agreement, which has left 25 years behind, were on the agenda. It was stated that the steps that can be taken to improve relations with the European Union are discussed. Another request of Ankara is to initiate the negotiation process for full membership. It is also stated that the 23rd and 24th chapters should be opened for this. It was noted that there was also an exchange of ideas on regional and international developments at the meeting. The conversation lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes.
SHOIGU ANNOUNCED
During the hours when Erdogan was meeting with EU officials, a very important piece of news was sent to the agencies. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu announced that checks on war preparedness have been initiated in all military regions of the country.
Speaking at the meeting of the Russian National Defense Management Center, Shoigu, "In accordance with the preparation plan of the Russian Armed Forces, inspections were initiated in military administration bodies, regions and units. Soldiers started to work on the polygons to conduct tactical, special and bilateral exercises," he said.
Shoigu demanded high-quality inspections from the upper ranks of the Russian army and ensure security during the movement of troops and military equipment.
