Turkey Statistics Institute has announced unemployment rates of age 15 and older, the number of unemployed has increased by 435 thousand persons and climbed to 3.493 million persons. Unemployment rates has increased 1.2 percentage points as to last years 10.1 percent and realised as 11.3 percent.
On the same term, non-agricultural unemployment rates, the base unemployment data of developed countries, has increased by 1.3 percentage points and rose to 13.7 percent.
Unemployment of young population (ages between 15-24) has increased 1.6 percent to 19.9 percent, and rates of 15-64 age bracket has increased by 1.2 percentage points to 11.5 percent.
Number of employees has increased 323 thousand persons as to last year and 27.473 million persons. Employment rate fell by 0.1 points to 46.1 percent.
In August term, agricultural employment decreased 257 thousand persons while non-agricultural employment has increased with 579 thousand persons. The rates of employees were, 21 percent in agriculture sector, 19 percent in industry, 7.4 percent in construction and 52.6 percent in the service industry.
Labor force has increased 759 thousand persons and realised as 30.967 million persons and labor force participation rate has increased 0.5 percent as to last year and realised as 52.6.
Compared to same term of last year, labor force participation rate on men stayed the same at 72.6 percent and labor force participation rate on women has increased 1 percent and realised as 33.1 percent.
