Turkish jets have killed six PKK terrorists in northern Iraq and in southeastern Turkey, the military said on Monday.
According to a Turkish General Staff statement, the warplanes carried out airstrikes on PKK camps in northern Iraq's Zap region and Hakkari's Yuksekova district.
Airstrikes killed five PKK terrorists thought to be preparing an attack.
One more terrorist was also killed in the Semdinli district of Turkey’s Hakkari province, according to the regional governor’s office on Monday.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
