While the reactions to the compulsory PCR test application brought to teachers with the opening of schools were increasing day by day, one reaction came from the Conscious Teachers Association (ÖĞ-DER).

ÖĞ-DER Chairman Hamdi Sürücü pointed out that teachers were put under pressure with the compulsory PCR test, "The obligation for teachers to have PCR tests twice a week means forcing them to be vaccinated. Vaccination is volunteer work," he said.

Distance education, which has been continuing for two years with the pandemic, started as face-to-face education at the end of two years. Underlining that the teachers are happy to meet with their students after a long time, Sürücü noted that the teachers were forced to be vaccinated with the compulsory PCR test twice a week, "The PCR test requirement demoralizes teachers who start face-to-face education after two years, causing anxiety and uneasiness. Therefore, this decision should be abandoned," he added.

Pointing out that even teachers who are not sick are at risk with the PCR test requirement imposed on teachers, Mr. Sürücü emphasized that teachers who go to the hospital for testing can get sick in the busy test queues.

"Even though teachers are not sick, they are directed to the hospital with the suspicion that they may just be sick or with a safety logic. There is pressure to be tested. Hospitals are crowded today. Even if the teacher is not sick, he can get sick by going to the hospital. The work done here to protect students and teachers puts everyone at risk," Sürücü added.
