Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday said aid projects for least developed countries (LDC) must not be imposed, rather be run in cooperation with local administrations.
In a speech at the Global South-South Development Expo 2017 (GSSD Expo) in Antalya, Cavusoglu said: "Local administrations must request project support because they know the needs of the locals better than us."
He further added that capacity enhancing projects with "education and technology" being a priority is a must.
Cavusoglu said the country aimed to help the "voices" of least developed nations be heard at all platforms.
This year’s GSSD Expo is hosted by Turkey and is to take place in Antalya from Nov. 27 to 30. There are over 120 countries and 25 UN agencies participating.
