Turkish fighter jets destroyed PKK terrorist shelters and mortar emplacements in northern Iraq and southeastern Turkey’s Hakkari province early Thursday, according to the military.
The Turkish General Staff said PKK shelters in Hakkari’s Cukurca district had been hit.
Moreover, six PKK terrorists fleeing from their shelters in Iraq surrendered to Turkish security forces in southeast Turkey Wednesday.
The terrorists surrendered in southeastern Sirnak province's Silopi district, the statement said.
Separately, Turkish forces also captured a PKK/PYD terrorist who was trying to cross the border illegally in southern Sanliurfa province's Mursitpinar district.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year.
