Turkish jets destroyed scores of caves and shelters used by PKK terrorists in northern Iraq early on Wednesday, the military said.
The Turkish General Staff said in a statement that the air operation took place in northern Iraq’s Zap and Avasin-Basyan regions at midnight and 1.30 a.m. (2100-2230GMT).
The military did not provide information on potential casualties.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
