Turkish jets destroyed PKK terrorist hideouts in northern Iraq and also killed at least two terrorists in eastern Turkey, the military said on Friday.
According to a Turkish General Staff statement, the warplanes carried out airstrikes on Thursday on PKK camps in northern Iraq's Qandil region.
Airstrikes on Thursday also killed two PKK terrorists thought to be preparing for an attack in the Ovacik district of the eastern Tunceli province, the statement added.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.
Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including women and children.
