After the MESS process, which concerns about 130,000 metal workers, was blocked and the process was left to mediation, metal workers took their first actions to get their rights.
Members of the Turkish Metal Union laid a black wreath in front of MESS's headquarters and regional representatives and made a press statement.
In the press release held simultaneously in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa, "We are here to warn those who see a life worthy of human dignity too much. We are here to make our voices heard, we are calling from here: We were at work when the whole world was locked in their homes due to the pandemic, when they could not even go out on the street due to fear. If you forgot, let us remind you: We produced even in the most difficult, heaviest and most impossible conditions. The place came, we buried our brother we worked with and went back to our loom. We came back and worked, produced, earned for you. Don't forget those days. As we worked in those darkest days, we know how to struggle, how to win, and how to say 'Enough is enough!' it was stated.
"OUR ACTIONS WILL OVERLOAD FACTORIES"
Underlining that if MESS's uncompromising attitude continues, the protests will be carried to the factories, the following was noted:
"If they ignore this warning and ignore us again, we will raise our voice a little more. This time, our voice from our strength in production will be heard. From December 20, shifts will be lifted. Let's see who will produce it then? We will not stop, actions will begin in the workplaces. For example, we will hold protests and press statements at the workplaces of our members. Earth and sky will groan with our voice."
