Healthcare Labour Union (Öz Sağlık-İş), the authorized union of the health and social services sector, once again brought the ban on appointment and settlement to the public agenda. Making a statement on the subject, Devlet Sert, Chairman of the Öz Sağlık-İş Union, drew attention to the fact that the ban on appointment and settlement of workers who were hired by the Decree Law No. 696 had shattered families.

Stating that tens of thousands of workers are devastated with the ban on appointment and settlement, Sert said, “Health and social service workers, who have been working hard under pandemic conditions for about 2 years, working in all kinds of risky working environments, and psychologically worn out by quarantine working systems, have been in a position of self-employment since their transition to the staff. They got into a more difficult situation with the prohibition of appointment and settlement. Family unity of health and social service workers who work in other cities apart from their spouses and children should be ensured as soon as possible.

“PROBLEM SHOULD BE SOLVED ASAP”

Stating that the social service workers working in the workplaces affiliated to the Ministry of Family and Social Services with ongoing collective bargaining negotiations are also in serious trouble in this regard, “The problem must be resolved permanently without delay. As a union, our stance on this issue is clear. The ban on appointment and settlement should be lifted before families are further broken up. For the workers, there is nothing to be postponed or delayed of the problem," he added.
