Turkish NGO: Qualified young people should be trained

Overview of Higher Education Monitoring and Evaluation Report which is prepared by Eğitim-Bir-Sen, explaining to the public Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalcin, drew attention to the unemployment data experienced in university graduates.

The Overview of Higher Education 2019 Monitoring and Evaluation Report which is prepared by the Union of Educators of the Union of Memur-Sen Confederation (Eğitim-Bir-Sen) was shared with the public. 
 
The report prepared under six main headings as 'Access and Participation to Higher Education, Outputs of Education, Academic Staff, Educational Environments, Higher Education Finance and Academic and Innovative Performance of Universities', were prepared by Memur-Sen and Eğitim-Bir-Sen annunced by Chairman Ali Yalcin.
 
"Turkey is one of the OECD countries was the lowest rate of university graduates," said Yalcin, Turkey and stressed that the master behind the top ten countries with the largest economy in terms doctoral graduates. Yalcin, said the continued: "Turkey's ability to produce highly educated high value-added products and to make a splash in the economy and the need to increase the number of qualified specialists. For this, the number of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral graduates should be increased urgently. A faculty member has a chronic deficit in Turkey. Turkey's higher education system in the average standard of the countries with the largest economies in order to give them an education, it needs at least 91 thousand lecturers. An urgent mobilization must be initiated to cover this gap."
 

YOUNG UNEMPLOYMENT IS INCREASING

Stating that the budget allocated to higher education this year decreased compared to the previous years, Yalçın said, "The share of investment expenditures in the higher education budget has decreased considerably. In order to establish a qualified higher education system, the investment budget and the higher education budget in general should be increased. The employment status of the graduates should be monitored and changes should be made in higher education programs within this framework."
