The conditions regarding the nomination process for an ombudsman to be vacant in the Ombudsman Institution have been published in the Official Gazette.
Candidates must apply to the relevant unit of the assembly in person or by mail between October 25 and November 15, 2021 with the required documents. According to the relevant legislation, the announcement regarding the application process is published in the Official Gazette 90 days before the end of the term of office of the chief auditor or one of the auditors.
The mixed commission, which consists of the members of the Parliamentary Petition and Human Rights Investigation Committee, selects three candidates and forwards them to the Speaker of the Parliament. One of these candidates is elected by the General Assembly.
