The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly will discuss the bill regarding the approval of Sweden's NATO accession protocol.
Opposition members in the commission oppose the law in question due to Sweden's approach to terrorist organizations and incidents such as the burning of the Holy Quran.
Sweden's NATO accession protocol, which has become one of the most discussed topics of recent months, is being discussed in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
NO RESULTS WERE GIVEN IN NOVEMBER
The protocol, which was made into a proposal with the signature of the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, last October, was referred to the Foreign Affairs Commission.
While no results were obtained from the meetings held in November, the commission met once again yesterday. During the meeting, it is expected that Sweden's NATO accession protocol will be accepted and sent to the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
THE OPPOSITION IS REACTING
Opposition deputies reacted to the accession protocol after 12 of our soldiers were martyred in the attacks carried out by the terrorist organization in the Claw-Lock operation carried out in Northern Iraq, and argued that Sweden's support to terrorist organizations should be stopped completely and the attacks on Islam should be clearly ended.
MHP'S ATTITUDE BECOMES A MATTER OF CURIOSITY
People's Alliance partner MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, "If the independent and territorial integrity of the Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital is recognized, if Israel agrees to pay compensation, if the way for Netanyahu to be tried in the Hague is cleared, we will say yes to Sweden's NATO membership," he has said.
It remains unclear whether the MHP Group will approve the accession protocol.
