Mahmut Ustaosmanoğlu (1929 – 23 June 2022), usually referred to as Mahmut Effendi and known to his disciples as "Efendi Hazretleri", was a Turkish Sufi Sheikh and the leader of the influential İsmailağa jamia of the Naqshbandi-Khalidiyya Ṭarīqah centred in Çarşamba, Istanbul.
Mahmud Ustaosmanoğlu Efendi, one of the spiritual leaders of the Islamic geography and one of our sultans of heart, passed away at the age of 93 in the hospital where he was treated for kidney disease.
Ustaosmanoğlu, who has lived in a direction all his life, has been instrumental in the guidance of thousands of Muslims.
Mahmud Efendi, one of the close friends of the leader of Milli Görüş Movement Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan, lived the Quran and the sunnah until his last breath.
Ustaosmanoğlu was born in a village imam in Miço (now Tavşanlı) village of the Of district. He became a hafiz under his father by the age of 10 and continued his madrasa education, gaining his ijazah by the age of 16. Afterward he married his cousin and started his work as an imam.
MAHMUD EFENDI WAS A CLOSE FRIEND OF ERBAKAN HODJA
Mahmud Efendi, who had great efforts on the Milli Görüş Movement, was one of the close friends of our teacher, Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan, the leader of the Milli Görüş.
It was known that Mahmud Efendi, who gave special importance to Erbakan Hodja, supported Milli Görüş and Erbakan Hodja in the political arena.
Mahmud Efendi, in his condolence message published after the death of our teacher Erbakan, "My deceased brother Necmeddin Erbakan, whom I do not doubt that he served the Islamic world with self-sacrificing efforts until his last moments, he had said.
TEMEL KARAMOLLAOĞLU PUBLISHED A MESSAGE FOR MAHMUD EFENDİ
Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu has issued a condolence message on the death of one of our country's spiritual leaders, Mahmud Ustaosmanoğlu.
Karamollaoğlu, expressing his condolences to his family and loved ones, used the following expressions in the message he published:
"I wish God's mercy on Mahmud Ustaosmanoğlu, one of the spiritual leaders of our country, who passed away, and patience and condolences to his family and students. May his place be heaven and his rank be high."
MAHMUD USTAOSMANOĞLU FUNERAL PRAYER PROGRAM
The funeral of Mahmud Ustaosmanoğlu Efendi will be performed in Fatih Mosque on Friday, June 24 (today) following the Friday prayer.
