One Turkish soldier was martyred and three others wounded early Saturday in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield.
The casualties were taken to hospitals in Turkey’s southern Kilis and Gaziantep border provinces, according to medical sources who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Operation Euphrates Shield, launched Aug. 24 by Turkey, aims at improving security, supporting coalition forces, and eliminating the terror threat along Turkey’s border using Free Syrian Army fighters backed by Turkish armor, artillery, and jets.
