Turkish Statistical Institute started to reflect the real inflation of the street

After the elections, together with the warnings from the new economy administration, the inflation data announced by Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) started to reflect the inflation of the street. Inflation, which approached double digits in July, maintained its high course in August as well.

According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) data, inflation surpassed the ENAG data, which was announced as 9.09 percent and 8.59 percent in August!
 
Annual inflation was 58.94 percent according to TURKSTAT and 128.05 percent according to ENAG.
 
Food inflation was 8.48 percent on a monthly basis and 72.86 percent on an annual basis.
 
Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced the inflation data for August.
 
According to the data, inflation remained close to double digits in August, as it did in July.
 
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 9.09 percent and the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 5.89 percent on a monthly basis in August.
 
Annual inflation was 58.94 percent in consumer prices and 49.41 percent in domestic producer prices.
 
According to TURKSTAT data, when 12-month averages are taken into account in August, consumer prices increased by 56.28 percent and domestic producer prices increased by 71.97 percent.
 
CPI increased by 43.06 percent and D-PPI increased by 31.59 percent in August compared to December of last year.
 
Inflation calculated by the Inflation Research Group (ENAG) was 8.59 percent in August and 128.05 percent on an annual basis.
 

THE HIGHEST INCREASE IN THE TRANSPORTATION GROUP IN AUGUST

 
In terms of main expenditure groups, the groups with the highest monthly increase in August were transportation with 16.61 percent and household goods with 9.36 percent.
 
Food prices, on the other hand, increased by 8,418 percent in August. The main group, which showed the least increase on a monthly basis, was recorded as education with 3.11 percent.
 

FOOD INFLATION 73 PERCENT!

 
The highest annual increase in CPI was seen in the restaurants and hotels group with 89.31 percent, while food inflation was 72.86 percent on an annual basis.
 
The main groups with the lowest increase compared to August 2022 were determined as housing with 24.97 percent, clothing and shoes with 31.10 percent, and communication with 46.35 percent.
 
In August, the index of 1 of the 143 main headings covered in the index decreased, while the index of 4 main headings did not change. There was an increase in the index of 138 main titles.
 

“GAMBING GAMES” INCREASED 75 PERCENT IN 1 MONTH

 
On the basis of consumer prices, the product with the highest price increase in August was “games of chance” with 74.67 percent, while the product whose price decreased was 2.72 percent, potatoes and some tubers.
 
The price increase in games of chance was followed by urban passenger transportation by taxi with 53.35 percent, intercity passenger transportation by land with 42.44 percent, and urban passenger transportation by rail with 36.57 percent.
 
Other products with the highest price increase in August included fuel and oils for personal transportation vehicles with 26.11 percent, urban passenger transportation by bus with 21.31 percent, and bread with 18.45 percent.
 
Last month, the price decrease was 2.72 percent in potatoes and some tuber crops. The products whose prices increased the least were lamb with 0.51 percent, beef with 1.11 percent, dry vegetables with 1.15 percent, pre-school education and primary education with 1.75 percent, vegetables (potatoes and vegetables) with 1.98 percent. some tuber plants).
