Turkey's benchmark index started the day with a 737,44-point increase to open at 98,103.23 points on Friday.
On the last transaction day of the week, the BIST 100 index climbed 0.79 percent.
The banking and holding sectors indices rose 1.09 percent and 0.29 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the banking sector index was the best performer, starting the day with the biggest increase. The tourism sector was the only sector that suffered, falling 0.06 percent.
At the close on Thursday, the BIST 100 was down 175.79 points or 0.18 percent to reach 97,365.79 points, with a total trading volume of 5 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.5340 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared with 3.5410 at Thursday’s close.
