A minimum wage demand was received from "Öz İplik-İş" Textile Suppliers' Union.

"Öz İplik İş" President Rafi Ay, who met with journalists in Çorlu within the scope of their union programs, talked about the discussions about the second raise to the minimum wage, "The minimum wage should be 7,500 TL," he said.

HIGH INFLATION TAKES WORKERS' BREATH AWAY

Stating that Turkey has entered a spiral of high inflation, and citizens with low and fixed incomes are out of breath, Ay said, "According to TURKSTAT figures, there is an inflation rate of over 70 percent. In reality, unfortunately, we are facing higher inflation. In such cases, fixed income earners are the people whose income does not increase in times of trouble, and whose income does not increase, and who are always crushed by inflation."

50 PERCENT RISE DEMANDED

Stating that the 50 percent increase in the minimum wage at the beginning of the year was steamy due to negative economic indicators, Ay said the following about the minimum wage increase demanded by their unions:

"When we look at the past years, we see that the minimum wage was 437 dollars net in 2013. If the minimum wage reaches a net level of 437 dollars today, we will catch the breathing situation in 2013. This equates to around 7 thousand 500 TL net with today's data. Why do we say the minimum wage in dollars, because we consume what we consume in dollars."
