Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made evaluations on the agenda in his live broadcast and answered questions.
Upon the question about the rent increases, Tunç stated that an arrangement was made that the rent increase could not be more than 25 percent last year and that high increases were seen in the rents.
"It may not be right to interfere with contract law, there is such a principle in law. However, there is also the principle of protecting the weak. When we consider the principle of protecting the weak, there should be a balanced situation," Tunç said.
Stating that the 25 percent increase limit has been extended for another year, Minister Tunç said, "There will be no more than 25% increase in rent amount. Within the next year."
Stating that there have been 90 thousand rental lawsuits filed since the beginning of the year, and that this figure was approximately 45 thousand last year, Tunç said that the mediation practice for litigation disputes will start on September 1st. Tunç stated that this practice will reduce the litigation burden.
Upon a question, Tunç reminded that the constitutional amendment on the headscarf and family was being prepared, and said that the determination on this issue will come to the agenda in the new period.
Yılmaz Tunç emphasized that their main goal is a democratic and civil constitution.
