The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) has updated the products and their weights in the inflation basket, 404 items and 895 items will be taken into account in the basket. While the only item entered in the basket was women's tights (hosiery); cocoa powder drink, cotton fabric, children's shirts, plastic kitchenware, hospital bed fee and other cultural activities were excluded from the basket.

In addition, the item types and item type weights covered under cigarettes, automobiles (diesel), automobiles (gasoline), airfares, mobile phone calls expenditure, highway tolls, magazines, vacuum cleaners, cable-private television broadcasting services, telephone spare parts, other health products, skin and body products and fish items have been updated.
WEIGHT OF HOUSING IS 16,61 PERCENT
The main group weights to be used in Consumer Price Index (CPI) calculations were also determined.

Inflation, which declined “proportionately” on an annual basis due to the high base effect, increased on a monthly basis. In January, it exceeded expectations.
While CPI saw the highest monthly level since April 2022 with 6,65 percent in January, Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 4,15 percent. Annual inflation was 57,68 percent in consumer prices and 86,46 percent in domestic producer prices.
