Treasury and Finance Minister Nurettin Nebati gave information about the new steps to be taken towards the finance sector to the deputies, economists, academics and business world representatives with whom he has been meeting frequently recently.
Some of the statements made by Minister Nabati here were almost like a confession.
Although the ruling wing, especially President Erdoğan, claims that a new economic model has been adopted with Nabati, the statements of Minister Nabati revealed that there is a lack of model rather than a new model.

While Nebati stated that the new economic model is not dependent on a calendar in the programs he attended, "We will not announce a schedule based program. We will not have a reform program. We will put our steps into practice in order. We will not be tying it to the calendar. As the steps we will take mature, the President will announce it and it will be implemented immediately," he said.
These statements of Nabati were interpreted as the absence of a model.

On the other hand, Minister Nabati's statements about inflation were also considered as confessions.
Nabati, who stated in his previous statements that the inflation would fall to single digits in June 2023, turned a kind of wheel with his new statements.
Noting that their goal is to reduce inflation, Nebati said, "It will be around 40 percent for a while. There will be some fall in the summer months. By the end of the year, we aim to reduce it below 30 percent with the base effect."
Confessing that he can only reduce inflation below 30 percent until the end of 2022, one wonders how Nabati will reduce inflation to single digits in the 6-month period until June 2023.
At a time when even Turkstat could not explain 40 percent inflation, Nabati's statement of inflation and its year-end forecast were interpreted as "Nebati confessed to inflation, which Turkstat could not explain."
