On behalf of the President of Pakistan, Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Yousaf Junaid presented the Sitara-e-Imtiaz medal to Ankara University Urdu Language and Literature Department Head Prof. Dr. Asuman Belen Özcan, who contributed to the development of relations between Pakistan and Turkey, and the Sitara-i-Pakistan medal to Mr. Cahit Yaşar Eren, the Honorary Consul General of Pakistan in Izmir.

Pakistani Ambassador Junaid thanked both names in his speech, "Mr. Cahit is the founder of the Pakistani stand, which is the only permanent stand in Izmir Fair. He also provided many business meetings between Pakistani and Turkish businessmen. He has organized Pakistani food fairs in Izmir many times. In addition, he has helped many Pakistani students studying in Turkey. Mrs. Asuman, on the other hand, is the author of the only theoretical Urdu book written in Turkey, 'Urdu Prose', and she has also made numerous contributions in the field of language and literature," he said.

Addressing the participants at the award ceremony, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin thanked the Pakistani ambassador for the ceremony held.
"First of all, I would like to extend my respects to our Pakistani ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for inviting me here. I would like to congratulate our teacher Asuman Belen Özcan for her engagement. She stated that she knows and speaks Urdu very well. I thank you for your contribution to the development of relations between the two countries. Likewise, our honorary Consul General has not spared his help in the development of the bond between Pakistan and our country. I thank them. Congratulations to both.
