The atrocities committed by the Chinese forces in East Turkestan are brought to the judiciary in Turkey.
A criminal complaint was filed with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in order to bring the genocide, torture, rape and crimes against humanity committed by China against the Uighurs to the judiciary.
After the denunciation, a press statement was made by lawyers and oppressed Uyghurs.
In the press release, "Chinese; Religious and ethnic-based genocide, willful killing, torture, ill-treatment, enforced disappearance, threatening freedom, violation of the right to a fair trial, unfair and arbitrary detention, torture and rape in concentration camps, police stations and prisons, forced abortion and sterilization practice, forced marriage with Chinese, forcing Chinese men into the home under the name of the Kinship Family Project, forcibly moving to remote areas, forced labor, family separation and taking children from their mothers, prohibition of dress and ethnic, cultural and religious practices, changing names, systematic fines, sentenced to lifelong work, etc. commits crimes," it was stated.
THE CRIMES ARE EXPLAINED WITHOUT LEAVING ANY DOUBT
It was noted that the atrocities committed by the Chinese forces against the people of East Turkestan were brought to the judiciary within the framework of universal jurisdiction based on the Turkish Penal Code.
It has been learned that 112 people, whose names have been identified, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, political officials, concentration camp directors, torturer police officers and officials in some police stations and concentration camps, local security personnel and administrators, police station officers, and those involved in rape crimes were reported to the prosecutor's office.
"In the criminal complaint, the crime of genocide, torture and rape crimes were given wide coverage with their evidence. Rape incidents and systematic sexual assault crimes in the concentration camps have been identified in the testimonies and forensic medical examinations of witnesses who have somehow escaped from the camps recently. The crimes have been clearly documented, leaving no room for doubt. Witness statements, photographs and videos, reports of official and non-governmental organizations, information and documents show that all crimes in our petition still continue to be committed. It is a legal obligation to apply for precautionary measures until the investigation against the accused persons is completed," the statement said.
“I WANT JUSTICE ON BEHALF OF ALL WOMEN RAPED”
In the press statement about the atrocities in East Turkestan, the aggrieved Uyghurs also took the floor.
Mariam Nazimi, a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, said that her brother had been in prison for four years and that China could not receive any information about him.
Noting that China closed millions of people in concentration camps, "China tortures those in the concentration camp and sells their organs. I demand justice on behalf of my sister and all the women who have been raped. Let's stop this genocide," Nazimi said.
Stating that her sister was not guilty of any crime, Mariam Nazimi demanded that she not be silent against the persecution and called on the government to protect her sister.
“I CANNOT GET NEWS FROM MY FAMILY”
Nur Muhammed Uygur, whose family is one of the concentration camp victims, made a statement to the Milli Gazete.
Expressing that he has been in Turkey since 2016, Uygur stated that his father was killed in the concentration camp.
Saying that he does not know where his wife and children are, Uygur noted that he also does not know whether his mother is alive or not.
Addressing the Turkish government, Nur Muhammed Uygur, "I want justice from the ministry, judges and prosecutors. Please hear our voice," he said.
“A CHINESE MAN HAS BEEN PLACED IN MY RELATIVES' HOUSE”
Jevlan Shirmehmet also stated that he came to Turkey for education and therefore his mother was thrown into a concentration camp.
Shirmehmet noted that he could not reach his family and could not hear from them.
"Why is there justice, why is there law, why do these persecutions and rapes continue? If there is law, this genocide must be stopped. We trust Turkish justice," Shirmehmet said.
Maghfire Emin, who took the floor after Shirmehmet, said that he had not heard from his family for five years.
Noting that his grandmother was killed in the concentration camp, Emin said, "Chinese men were placed in my relatives' house. Girls are raped in East Turkestan. I cringe when I think of them. We believe in the law. Please do not remain silent against this persecution."
