The announcement of the imperialist US President Donald Trump "officially recognizes the sovereignty of the occupying terror gang on the Golan Heights" caused reactions.

"The position of the EU has not changed," said EU Spokesperson in a statement.

"The European Union, in line with international law, does not recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the territories occupied by Israel since June 1967, including the Golan Heights, and does not consider them to be part of Israel’s territory," the spokesperson added.

European powers also warned of the potential damage to international order.

The French foreign ministry said: "The recognition of israeli sovereignty over the Golan, occupied territory, would be contrary to international law, in particular, the obligation for states not to recognize an illegal situation."

Germany's government condemned what it said were unilateral steps. "If national borders should be changed it must be done through peaceful means between all those involved," spokeswoman Ulrike Demmer said.

"United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is clear that the status of Golan has not changed," UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Monday.

"The UN’s policy on Golan is reflected in the relevant resolutions of the Security Council and that policy has not changed," Dujarric said.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the US decision to recognize zionist sovereignty over the Golan Heights contradicts international laws and could lead to a new wave of violence in the region.

Stating that the US recognition of zionist's annexation of the occupied Golan is a blatant violation of international law, Russian Foreign Minister said: "US recognition of Golan annexation to Israel will hinder settlement of Syrian crisis."

"The UK views the Golan Heights as territory occupied by Israel. Annexation of territory by force is prohibited under international law, including the UN Charter," said a Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson.

"We did not recognize Israel’s annexation in 1981 and have no plans to change our position, the spokesperson added.
